[Behind the Scene] Nihonshu murder

A few days ago, I made a video about a detective investigating a case where an amakuchi sake murders a karakuchi sake.

Today, I’m going to talk about the making process of that video—this is the “behind the scenes.”

Here’s what I’ll cover:

1. Video idea

2. Filming

– What worked

– What didn’t

3. Editing (based on Final Cut Pro)

1. Video Idea

The very first idea for this video came to me while I was out on a morning run.

I suddenly thought, “Wouldn’t it be interesting to have a scene where someone crosses a police line?”

Starting from that idea, I began to build the story step by step.

If someone is crossing a police line, there has to be a case behind it.

And if there’s a case, there needs to be someone investigating it—like a detective.

That naturally led me to the idea of making it a murder case.

From there, I developed the concept into a story where a karakuchi (dry) sake is murdered by an amakuchi (sweet) sake.

To bring that idea to life, I even bought several bottles of amakuchi sake from a local shop.

For this video, I also wanted to incorporate more cinematic elements.

So I built each scene around a master shot, and then added medium shots and close-ups in between

to make the visuals more engaging and dynamic.
